Privacy Policy
Last updated: 21 July 2026
Behind The Policy ("we", "us") is an independent editorial project operated by Tamari Tabatadze. This policy explains what personal data we process, why, and the rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). You can reach us any time at behindthepolicy.eu@gmail.com.
Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is Tamari Tabatadze, operating Behind The Policy as a personal, non-commercial project. Contact: behindthepolicy.eu@gmail.com.
What we collect and why
- Contact form. When you message us we process your name, email address, and message so we can read and reply. Legal basis: your consent and our legitimate interest in responding. Messages are delivered to our inbox via our email provider (see below).
- Analytics (only with consent). If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics collects anonymised usage data (pages viewed, approximate location, device/browser) so we can improve the site. Legal basis: your consent. You can decline, and nothing analytics-related loads.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider automatically logs technical data such as IP address and browser type to keep the site secure and operational. Legal basis: legitimate interest.
Who processes data on our behalf
We rely on a small number of trusted processors:
- Netlify — website hosting and server logs.
- Supabase — database and authentication (used for publishing; no visitor accounts are required to read the site).
- Resend — delivery of contact-form emails to our inbox.
- Google Analytics — usage analytics, loaded only after you consent.
Some of these providers may process data outside the EU/EEA under appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep contact messages only as long as needed to handle your enquiry and our records of it. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' default retention settings. Server logs are kept for a short period by our host.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, email behindthepolicy.eu@gmail.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to run the site and, with your consent, analytics cookies. For details, see our Cookie Policy.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above.
